The Midwest Music Foundation has just released the second compilation of singles from fantastic local acts, new and old. The mix features unreleased material and recent tracks from albums just released this year.

I’ve written about songs from Bloodbirds, Heartscape Landbreak, Olassa, Spirit Is The Spirit, and Margo May on this very website and all of the songs they have included blend perfectly with the other featured artists (Rev Gusto, Middle Twin, Victor & Penny, Drew Black & Dirty Electric just to name a few).

Electric Hullabaloo has something for everyone; like the local scene it cares so much about, the compilation is eclectic (Sam Billen next to Cherokee Rock Rifle). It shows what this community of musicians is all about. A damn fine representation of what great music is coming out of the Midwest.

Editor’s note: The Midwest Music Foundation is a fantastic organization that supports local musicians. I Heart Local Music recently released The 2014 Local Music Swimsuit Calendar, with proceeds benefiting the foundation. You can read more about their mission here. The compilation is now available for free download here.
