I Heart Local Music has been hard at work all year on a project that not only spotlights local musicians and their playful side, but also benefits an important charity.

We called upon several local bands to pose for the 2014 I Heart Local Music Swimsuit Calendar. Everything about this calendar is a community-based labor of love. The musicians are local, local businesses (such as Wild Man Vintage, Fun and Games, and Arizona Trading Company) clothed them, and the calendar was even printed through a local company (Blue Collar Press).

Our aim was to find a unique way to raise money while showing just how fun and good-natured some local bands can be. When you purchase this calendar, proceeds will go towards Midwest Music Foundation, a nonprofit organization set up to help support music and musicians. You can learn more about the Kansas City-based organization here.

Inside, you’ll find local bands such as Cowboy Indian Bear, Fourth of July, JabberJosh, Approach and G-Train, Stiff Middle Fingers, Your Friend, and more. You can pick up the calendar at Love Garden (822 Massachusetts), Mass Street Music (1347 Massachusetts), and Cindy’s Simple Life (16 E. 8th Street, across the street from Henry’s).

I Heart Local Music would like to thank: Mass Street Music, Cindy’s Simple Life, Love Garden Sounds, Wild Man Vintage, Arizona Trading Company, Fun and Games, Naturalway Windsurfing, Janet Fitzgerald, all the musicians featured in the calendar, and you.
