Wednesday night must have been ladies’ night when two female-powered acts blew through the Granada.

Best Coast and Bleached ignited an excitement in Lawrence women who came out in droves with their silky, flowing mullet dresses and mermaid hair. They ditched their men for a night of girl power and camaraderie while the bands plowed through old and new favorites.

You know the night belonged to the women when Bleached’s frontwoman announced “We’re Bleached!” and a man in the audience yelled back “You’re hot!” You could hear the collective eye roll of every woman in that audience, and even a few groans.

Best Coast treated the fans to new songs off their upcoming EP (due out this October) and a few heartbreaking favorites as well. You can watch a new song, “This Lonely Morning,” after the gallery.
