Dean Monkey and the Dropouts is by far one of Lawrence’s more unique acts. There aren’t too many ways to see really bewitching doo-wop in these parts, and every show from these musicians is a blessing. Their musical stylings are groovy and jazzy at times, while their harmonizing vocals are crystal clear and incredibly attractive.

The music is more than enough to grab your attention, but the band also likes to dress up in coordinated costumes with each performance. On Friday night they performed under the heavenly glow of the Replay stage lights while donning angel wings and halos (except for the bass player, whose face was caked in devil makeup).

Here’s a clip of a brand new song which featured one of their backup singers in the lead for a change. It was a graceful performance and was well-received with an audience that filled the Replay to the brim.
