River City Extension at SXSW 2012
We just wanted to pass along a quick note to you about an upcoming show. River City Extension is coming to the Jackpot on Sunday, and we’re telling you about it good and early so you can make sure you catch them.

River City Extension at SXSW 2012
We had the chance to see the band at SXSW. In fact, they were probably the first band we saw on the first official day of the festival. We walked into the middle of the show, and the band was doing a great job jamming out some indie folk tunes, but then they all leapt off of the stage and into the crowd. They abandoned their mics, and (armed with little more than their powerful voices) treated everybody to an invigorating acoustic set. They moved among the folks in the crowd the entire time. It was thrilling, and we eagerly awaited the day they announced their tour dates to see if they would be coming through Lawrence.

On Sunday, you can catch them at the Jackpot with The Drowning Men and O Giant Man. Don’t write these guys off as just another bunch of folk rockers, they bring quite a show to the stage (and offstage as well).

Here’s a clip of what we saw:
